Caroline works with employers to analyze and resolve
a variety of compliance issues that they may encounter over the course of the employment
relationship. Caroline regularly advises employers on labor and employment topics such as
employee terminations, reasonable accommodations, wage and hour laws, employee benefits,
background checks, compliance with the National Labor Relations Act, and leaves of absence.
Caroline also tracks developments in the federal, state, and local employment laws and
works to ensure that clients are aware of these developments and provided with a course
of action to ensure continued compliance. Caroline collaborates with employers to draft
and revise employment documents, employee handbooks, and separation agreements. Caroline
also has experience representing employers in state and federal court and mediations.
Prior to joining Florentino & Grimshaw LLC, Caroline worked at Collazo & Keil LLP, a
boutique labor and employment firm, practicing management-side labor and employment
law. During law school, Caroline served as a Summer Honors Intern in the Labor &
Employment Division of the New York City Law Department, where she assisted with
litigation involving Title VII, §1981, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the
City Human Rights Law. She also served as an intern for the Honorable Janet Bond Arterton,
U.S. District Judge for the District of Connecticut during the summer of 2017.
