BIO
Kate provides employers with valued guidance when
they are faced with the challenging questions that arise during all stages of an
employment relationship. She counsels employers on rapidly developing issues in labor
and employment law, such as the use of artificial intelligence in employment, wage and
hour developments, worker classification questions, and federal, state and local
discrimination and harassment laws.
Kate stays abreast of the pressing employment issues
of the day so that our clients receive timely, thorough and compliant information when
developing workplace policies or making employment decisions. Though Kate strives to
work with management to develop practical solutions and strategies that minimize risk
and exposure to litigation, Kate also has experience successfully litigating employment
related matters to trial.
Prior to joining Florentino & Grimshaw LLC, Kate worked as an attorney for the Employment
Law Unit of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where her work focused on
management-side litigation and navigating legal issues
relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. During law school, Kate served both in the private and
public spheres, working at New York City-based law firms and with the Legal Aid Society
of New York.
