BIO

Amanda is committed to helping clients navigate complex compliance issues that arise during the course of the employment relationship, from recruiting through separation. Amanda advises employers in a wide variety of industries, including in the non-profit, health care, and financial services sectors.

Amanda routinely provides practical and strategic advice to employers on labor and employment issues such as background checks, employee terminations and discipline, performance management, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, wage and hour issues, remote work arrangements, worker classifications, compliance with the National Labor Relations Act, and managing internal investigations. Amanda also closely monitors developments in federal, state, and local employment law and counsels clients on maintaining compliance in a constantly evolving legal landscape.

Amanda drafts and revises employment documents such as employee handbooks and policies, offer documents, and separation agreements to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law, as well as best practices. Amanda frequently provides anti-harassment training to employees and supervisors and has trained human resource professionals on developing areas of the law. Amanda has conducted internal investigations when employers receive complaints of discrimination and harassment, and has experience representing employers in state and federal court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations.

Prior to joining Florentino & Grimshaw LLC, Amanda worked at Collazo, Florentino & Keil LLP, a boutique labor and employment firm, practicing management-side labor and employment law.
